The moral of the story is don’t expect your mobile content vendor to include optimization if it doesn’t explicitly say so in the contract. This has been an issue for at least two years, but I’m hoping a little bit of publicity will help mobile transcoders and enterprise SEOs consider SEO as being relevant to what they do.
