If you’re in or around Santa Monica or interested in monetizing domains, you already may be going to Domainfest 2012 this year. If you’re there, check out the Mobile and Local Opportunities for Publishers and Advertisers panel, where I’ll be speaking this year. Should be a great show!

Hey Bryson I stumbled upon your site from the warrior forum
maybe you could help me figure something out
off topic question:
If I build a mobile wesite without having a regular desktop website
will I be indexed & ranked by google, or do I have to a desktop site?
assuming ofcourse that it is a really low competitive nieche
Hey Lior. No, you absolutely don’t need a desktop website to compete in mobile search results. For nonbrand competitive queries it might be difficult, but if you are targeting queries that overindex in mobile search (like local queries or mobile-specific queries), you shouldn’t have any trouble. Especially if the site is well-optimized and the niche you’re targeting isn’t very competitive.
Best,
Bryson
