If you’re connected to me on Facebook, Twitter or Linkedin, my status updates will be tumbleweeds for the next 30 days.
As Matt Cutts says eloquently in his call for a digital cleanse to start off 2011, “if you want to fill five minutes, Twitter is a great way to fill 35 minutes”. I’m more active on Facebook than Twitter, but more active on both than I’d like to be. And no offense to any of you that I’m connected to, but the signal to noise ratio on both networks has me scrolling through a lot of irrelevant information before I finally get to something worth sharing.
I have a number of things that I’d like to achieve in 2011, including publishing a book on mobile SEO that I’m writing, and taking a social sabbatical will theoretically help me to be as productive as I want to be.
Still connected via email, Google Reader and mobile, for those of you that need to get a hold of me. For everyone else, Happy New Year, and I’ll see you back on the graph in February!
